Join Cavalier Masters
You must be a member of US Masters Swimming (USMS) prior to joining us at practice. It is encouraged, though not required, to be a member of the Brooks Family YMCA.
To join Cavalier Masters Swimming, register with USMS in the VIRGINIA LMSC (regardless of your actual residence) and designate "Cavalier Masters" as your team (our team code is CM-Y).

Cavalier Masters offers two team fee options - a monthly fee or a daily drop-in fee. We are also require an annual registration fee that includes a team t-shirt and 3 swim caps (2 latex cap and 1 silicone cap).​

YMCA employees will receive discounts at the following rates: full-time staff receive 50% discount, part-time staff receive 20% discount on team fees.
Financial Assistance
Cavalier Masters is a program of the Brooks Family YMCA. Because the YMCA is a nonprofit mission, no one is turned away for their inability to pay. Through our Open Door financial assistance program, YMCA membership is available on a sliding scale based on income and membership type. This also applies to our team fees.

We also have an additional philanthropic program that is available to assist above and beyond the standard YMCA financial assistance programs. For more information, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

New Trial Members
Swimmers are invited to drop by and swim a workout with the team for free. Just tell the coach on deck that you are a potential new member and they will get you up to speed. It is MANDATORY that you fill out the US Masters Swimming Trial Membership Form and bring it with you to the workout for insurance purposes. You will not be permitted to swim without insurance coverage. The guest membership form is a one-time release that gives you 30 days to complete your trial swim.
Visiting Masters Swimmers
Visiting from out of town? Registered US Masters swimmers and YMCA members are welcome to swim with us while you are here. All we need it a copy of your USMS card. Please email ctaylor@piedmontymca.org to let us know you are coming.
