Brooks YMCA "E Team" swimmers, Harriette Fishburne (74) and Meg Clute (66), competed with 849 swimmers at the U.S. Masters Swimming Short Course National Championship held July 21-25, 2021 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in North Carolina.
Fishburne and Clute obtained top ten standings in all their events and personal best (PB) times in the majority. Fishburne swam 100 FR (9th place), 50 BR (6th place + PB) and 50 FR (6th place + PB).
Clute raced in the 50 BK (4th place +PB), 100 FR (6th place + PB), 50 FR (6th place + PB), and 100 BK (5th place + PB).
This was the first indoor meet the E Team has participated in since Covid restrictions have been put in place. The swimmers are coached by Don Easterling at the Y.
