Local triathletes and Brooks Family YMCA masters swimmers score big at the Cal-Tri Events held at Lake Monticello on May 2nd.
Taliesin Kauffmann (20) competed in the Sprint Swim-Run (400m swim/5k run) finishing 1st Overall with a time of 38:38.9 (12:23 - 23:54), Roxanne Wegman (33) soared to 2nd Female Overall in the Olympic Triathlon (1.5K swim/40K bike/10K run) with a time of 2:25:52.2 (29:31 - 1:11:32 - 40:20), Tyler Sande (42) secured 3rd place in his division of the 70.3 Triathlon (1.9K swim/90K bike/2.1K run) with a time of 5:30:27.1 (34:40 - 2:48:15 - 2:01:38), Jay Kauffmann (59) scored two 1st Overall place finishes in the Olympic Swim (1500m): 25:44.6 and Sprint Swim (400m swim): 11:32.1.
Competing in the Olympic Relay (1500m swim, 40K bike, 10K run), the team called “Slow by Nature” which included Elizabeth Tual (35), Madeline Schnuck (28) and Megan Tuttle (36) claimed 1st Overall with their time of 3:19:52 (35:43 - 1:33:49 - 1:06:09).
